This isn’t a “5 star, pamper you with foot massages, canned high fence hunt”. This is a long term commitment to improving the habitat, genetics, and age structure of our deer herd. As with all of our hunts, our pricing structure is focused towards the “once in a lifetime” hunter. We want each and every hunter to have their best hunting experience ever here.
In 2006 Live Oak Hunting Lodge game fenced 2000 acres of our finest whitetail deer hunting in order to provide our hunters that were looking to harvest a larger whitetail the opportunity to do so in as close to “fair chase” conditions as possible.
For more information on booking or available dates please contact Steven via email or phone. Remember, this is not a guaranteed hunt; you may go home empty handed. Our staff will do everything in its power to ensure that doesn’t happen, that’s what the Live Oak reputation has been built on.
The hunts are guided one on one unless other wise requested (i.e. father and son or husband and wife) and the guide will determine the maturity of the deer.
Management Hunts are $2,900, these are
mainframe 8 and 9pts that have reached maturity but lack the antler characteristics we want to pass on. In 2011, we plan to make only 4 of these hunts for sale. This hunt requires a $1,500 deposit.
Trophy Hunt Pricing
up to 150 B&C $4,200
150 1/8 to 170 B&C $5,750
170 1/8 to 190 B&C $7,750
190 1/8 to 200 B&C $9,000
200 1/8 B&C $10,000 + $100 an inch for every inch over 200 B&C
ie… A 223 2/8 gross B&C buck would cost $12,300
These hunts require a $2,500 deposit. The deposit is subtracted from the prices listed above. After paying the $2500 deposit, one would owe $1,700 after taking a deer scoring less than 150 B&C or $3,250 after taking a deer in the 150-170 B&C range.
These hunts are limited to 3 hunters at
a time right now to give each and every hunter the opportunity to harvest the best buck possible. Trophy hunts are available for rifle or archery hunters on any 3 or 4 consecutive days from October 1st through the end of February. During the Texas general firearms season, November 6th-January 2nd, these hunts will be booked in conjunction with our regular hunt dates. All animals harvested on a Trophy Hunt will be tagged with a MLD III tag and will NOT count towards the hunters Texas license limit.
Final balance will be due upon the
harvest of an animal. Our guides are good, usually within a couple inches of the gross score of each animal, but we are still human. In the event of a discrepancy, the benefit will go to the hunter. If the guide says a buck is low 170′s and ends up scoring 169, the hunter pays for that price range deer. In the event of harvesting a 200+ animal, the hunter pays according to the final score of the animal.
