Trophy Hunts

Live Oak Hunting Lodge is proud to offer a NEW hunting opportunity for our customers.

In 2006 we began the process of game fencing 1900 acres of our finest deer hunting in order to accomplish 3 goals.

1. To improve the quality of deer and provide our hunters that were looking to harvest a larger whitetail the opportunity to do so in as close to "fair chase" conditions as possible.

2. To give the hunter an opportunity to enjoy the experience of harvesting a trophy class animal without having to worry about making a mistake or hidden/extra fees. The hunts are broken down into 5 different categories. If the guide tells you a deer is in a certain category, that's the price you pay, regardless of what the deer ends up scoring!

3. To accomplish the first two goals and stay true to our pre-existing customers. To keep offering the same great hunting experience in the most relaxing atmosphere possible.

The hunts are guided one on one unless other wise requested (i.e. father and son or husband and wife) and the guide will determine the maturity of the deer.

These hunts are limited to 1 or 2 people at a time right now to give each and every hunter the opportunity to harvest the best buck possible. These hunts can be done in conjunction with our other hunts as well. We feel an important part of your trip is allowing each hunter and his guide the freedom to roam the ranch and experience all wildlife and scenery.

Each hunter and guide will have several blind setups to choose from prior to each hunt or they can "stay put" if they have a muy grande buck spotted. The hunting is mainly out of spacious 6'x8' heated blinds overlooking feeders and travel routes or if the hunter and guide chooses they can try their hand at rattling or stalking.

Remember, this is not a guaranteed hunt; you may go home empty handed. Our staff will do everything in its power to ensure that doesn't happen, that's what the Live Oak reputation has been built on.

Over the last two years we have been culling the lesser deer from our herd and allowing the better deer to grow. Through our supplemental feeding program we have seen some of our younger deer really put on some exceptional horns for their age. It's going to be as exciting this fall for us as it will be our hunters to see the beginning results of our commitment to grow bigger whitetails for our hunters
