- Come deer hunting with us at Live Oak Hunting lodge and enjoy some of the finest free-range whitetail deer hunting West Texas has to offer. We maintain a 95% and higher success rate each year by hunting 10 to 12 hunters at a time on over 30,000 acres with a minimum of 3 days in between hunts.
Texas has one of the largest whitetail
deer populations in the United States with over 99% of the state consisting of private ranches. Each year thousands of hunters come to Texas looking for "Muy Grande" or just to experience the thrill of seeing 10-20 rack bucks a day. Having hunted whitetail deer from the swamps of Alabama to the big woods of Saskatchewan, Texas deer hunting is an unique experience unto itself.Hunting methods include ground blinds,
glassing open flats from tripods, and
some good old fashion horn rattling. If you
thought rattling whitetails was exciting on TV come
witness what it really feels like having
several giant whitetails come barreling
within yards of your set up! Our routine is
to leave well before daylight for the
morning hunt, return for lunch late morning,
and go back out for the evening hunt later
in the afternoon.
These hunts are guided 3 on 1. Generally a guide will drop off two hunters in stands and remain with one if requested. Sometimes they alternate between hunters or may stay with one for the duration of the hunt. Whether a hunter requests help with judging deer the first day or just enjoys the camaraderie of hunting with someone there is no additional charge for this.

Your Texas deer hunt will include
one buck (8-points or better), two doe, guides, meals, lodging, and care of animals harvested. Pretty much get here and purchase your license and we'll take it from there. Adult beverages are not provided but you're welcome to bring your own.
Our hunts are available November
to January each year. Hunters arrive Tuesday afternoon, hunt Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and depart Sunday. For more information please feel free to contact us by phone or email.
We also offer Doe hunts during the 2 week January Doe season for $900. These hunts are 2 1/2 Day hunts for up to 4 Does. This includes meals and lodging. This an excellent opportunity for hunters to top off there freezers and help with our Management Program.
